Zillow Integrates AI Homebuying Tools Into Google’s NotebookLM
Zillow and Google are integrating AI-powered housing content into NotebookLM to help consumers better understand affordability, mortgage costs, and the homebuying process
Zillow has partnered with Google to bring AI-powered homebuying guidance directly into NotebookLM, Google’s research and note-taking platform, in a move designed to help consumers better understand the homebuying process and navigate complex housing decisions.
Through the collaboration, Zillow is providing curated housing content — including articles, research, and educational materials — that users can access within NotebookLM. The integration enables prospective buyers to ask questions, summarize information, and receive AI-generated explanations about topics such as affordability, mortgage costs, market trends, and the steps involved in purchasing a home.
NotebookLM, powered by Google’s Gemini AI models, allows users to upload and interact with source materials while generating summaries, answering questions, and providing contextual insights. By incorporating Zillow’s housing expertise, the platform aims to deliver more accurate and relevant guidance tailored to prospective buyers’ needs.
"When navigating a milestone as significant as buying a home, trusted information is important. This featured notebook, curated by Zillow in NotebookLM, meets home buyers at the start of their journey with answers they can trust," said Steven Johnson, co-founder and editorial director of NotebookLM.
Zillow said the initiative is intended to address persistent knowledge gaps among consumers, many of whom face confusion around financing, budgeting, and navigating today’s housing market. With affordability challenges and elevated mortgage rates continuing to shape buyer behavior, access to clear and reliable information has become increasingly important.
The partnership reflects a broader effort by Zillow to expand its use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support home shoppers throughout the transaction journey. By leveraging generative AI, the company seeks to make complex housing information more accessible while helping consumers make more informed financial decisions.
For Google, the collaboration enhances NotebookLM’s usefulness by integrating trusted, domain-specific housing content into its AI ecosystem. The addition of Zillow’s resources provides users with authoritative information grounded in real estate data and market analysis.
The companies expect the integration to benefit a wide range of users, from first-time buyers seeking foundational education to experienced homeowners researching market conditions or preparing for future transactions.
"Millions of people turn to Zillow at the start of their home journey," said Jen Berger, vice president, creative and performance media at Zillow. "As more buyers turn to AI tools to research and plan, we want our trusted, expert-backed guidance to show up there, too. By bringing our home-buying expertise into NotebookLM, we're meeting even more people earlier in the process with answers that are fast, clear and grounded in reliable information."
