Collateral Analytics has developed a new automated valuation model (AVM) solution to assist lenders with monitoring commercial property values and provide access to quick, accurate and inexpensive valuations for commercial real estate

Collateral Analytics has announced the addition of John Holbrook as Executive Vice President of Business Strategy, further enhancing its team of industry veterans, data scientists and IT engineers.

Holbrook joins at an opportune time, following recent public statements from mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and their support for a modernized appraisal and a digital mortgage experience for borrowers and homeowners. As additional support that the market is racing to make a better mortgage experience, according to Q2 2017 edition of KPMG’s the Pulse of Fintech, total investment in FinTech more than doubled on a quarter-over-quarter basis to more than $8.4 billion.

“Recent events and shifts in the valuation industry provide clear evidence that the market strongly desires a digital mortgage experience for home owners,” said Collateral Analytics CEO Michael Sklarz. “The unrivaled analytic tools which Collateral Analytics is recognized for in the mortgage and investment verticals perfectly positions us as a key player in creating the next generation of valuation products. Credible and transparent valuations with minimal disruption to the borrower is an essential part of the digital mortgage experience. John’s broad and various experience in appraisal and valuation technology made it a compelling choice to invite him to join our team, as we enhance and expand our modern appraisal products.”

Holbrook is a 20-year veteran in the appraisal and valuations space. He joins Collateral Analytics from Fannie Mae, where he served as Director of Collateral Technology and Strategy, responsible for developing and supporting appraisal technology, workflows and risk analytics. Prior to Fannie Mae, Holbrook instituted a successful valuations channel for Mueller Services Inc., leveraging their field inspections. Prior to that, Holbrook was VP Valuation Strategy for a division of Lender Processing Services (now Black Knight Financial). Holbrook has a proven history for building innovative valuation tools, leveraging his previous experience as a certified real estate appraiser and certified USPAP instructor.

“I am incredibly excited to join Collateral Analytics, especially at a time that the planets are aligning for positive and significant change in the valuation space,” said Holbrook. “CA’s rock star team and extraordinary analytic products provide the perfect incubator for innovation, where we will continue to create credible and dependable solutions to meet the current and future needs of our mortgage and investment partners.”
