AmTrust Title Insurance Company has announced the promotion of Felice K. Shapiro to General Counsel for AmTrust Title and First Nationwide Title

AmTrust Title Insurance Company has announced the promotion of Felice K. Shapiro to General Counsel for AmTrust Title and First Nationwide Title, one of the first female General Counsels of a major title insurance underwriter. In her new role, Shapiro will be responsible for all underwriting decisions for both companies.

“Felice has made countless contributions to the title insurance industry from her work as President of NYSLTA, Executive Director of TIRSA and now General Counsel at one of the leading title insurance underwriters in the industry,” said Jason Gordon, President of AmTrust Title. “With more than 35 years of industry experience working for two of the largest title insurance companies in the industry and helping launch AmTrust Title in 2016, she brings significant legal and title insurance expertise to the role. Known as a deal maker rather than a deal-breaker, Felice brings an innovative legal perspective to the largest real estate transactions, and we look forward to better leveraging her insight to support both AmTrust Title and First Nationwide.”

Most recently, Shapiro served as EVP and Chief Underwriter for AmTrust Title and was responsible for overseeing all legal and underwriting decisions for the direct and agency sides of the business. Prior to joining AmTrust Title in January 2016, Shapiro was Executive Director and Counsel of TIRSA, a rating agency for title insurance. She also spent more than 17 years at Old Republic Title Company where she held the role of Senior Counsel, VP. In 1997, Shapiro was named the first female President of the New York State Land Title Association.
