CBC Mortgage And Guild Mortgage Launch National Housing Initiative
National effort begins July 19 with free event focused on financial literacy and homeownership access
CBC Mortgage Agency and Guild Mortgage have announced the launch of the Future Homebuyer Initiative, a nationwide campaign to improve access to homeownership through education and community outreach. The initiative debuts with a free event in Columbia, South Carolina, on July 19, designed to guide prospective homebuyers through the complexities of financing, credit, and down payment assistance.
The event, held at the Brookland Banquet & Conference Center, will feature educational workshops and one-on-one consultations with housing professionals. Attendees can expect to learn about credit readiness, financial literacy, private mortgage insurance, and down payment assistance (DPA) programs, including CBC Mortgage Agency’s Chenoa Fund. On-site mortgage pre-qualifications will also be available for participants who bring income documentation, bank statements, and a photo ID.
The initiative is a collaboration between CBC Mortgage Agency (CBCMA), a national DPA provider, and Guild Mortgage, a prominent national lender. Over the coming months, the program will host ten events across the country to help aspiring homeowners understand their financing options and engage with the local real estate market.
"Finding, purchasing and financing a home for the first time can be a daunting experience, especially for those who don't have access to traditional resources or family support," said Miki Adams, president of CBC Mortgage Agency. "This initiative is about giving first-time home buyers the tools and information they need to make confident decisions and take meaningful steps toward buying a home."
“Whether you are only in the initial stages of considering homeownership or you are ready to move forward, we are here to help you proceed and provide you with support and guidance each step of the way,” added Nora Guerra, senior vice president at Guild Mortgage.
The Columbia event will be co-hosted by Guerra and CBCMA Corporate Account Director Christopher Johnson. It is expected to draw housing advocates, local officials, and community leaders who are working to expand affordable housing access throughout the region. The agenda includes presentations by financial educators, mortgage professionals, and HUD-approved housing counselors, with opportunities for audience Q&A and networking.
The Future Homebuyer Initiative represents a shared commitment by CBCMA and Guild Mortgage to broaden access to homeownership by bridging knowledge gaps and providing direct support to those navigating the homebuying process.
