Informed has named mortgage-tech veteran Daniel Sogorka CEO as the AI fraud detection platform looks to expand beyond auto lending

Informed, the AI fraud-detection platform behind more than $350 billion in automated auto loan originations, has named Daniel Sogorka as CEO. His résumé has nothing to do with cars.

Sogorka spent two decades in mortgage leadership at Black Knight/ICE, ServiceLink/FNF, Sagent, and Rocket Pro. Informed built its business entirely on auto lending, serving eight of the top 10 U.S. auto lenders. The company says Sogorka will scale the business and expand "beyond auto lending into adjacent verticals." No mortgage customer or product has been named. But a fraud platform with zero mortgage customers just hired a CEO with zero auto-lending experience — that's the tell.

Informed's platform runs on its Fraud Data Network: 100 million-plus documents and 2 billion data points, processing 5 million applications a year. "With more than 2 billion data points behind the platform, we can catch what others miss, and it's the foundation we'll build on as we bring that same trust to new markets," Sogorka said. The company says its strategy, roadmap, and customer commitments are unchanged.

Board members backed the pick. "Dan brings exactly the scaling experience and lending industry expertise this next chapter requires," said John DeLoche, co-founder and managing partner at Invictus Growth Partners. Invictus, Informed's backer, manages $1.3 billion in assets across cloud software, cybersecurity, and fintech.

For mortgage lenders, the implication is competitive: a well-capitalized entrant with a large data asset and a CEO fluent in mortgage, servicing, and title could add pressure to an already crowded verification market — if auto-lending fraud data translates to mortgage risk, which runs on different documentation and regulatory rules. No timeline yet. But the hire reads like intent, not caretaking.
