Advance Mortgage Innovation

MISMO has launched its Technology Impact and Enablement community of practice to unite industry professionals in evaluating and advancing innovations that modernize the mortgage sector and shape evolving standards

MISMO is inviting industry professionals to join its newly formed Technology Impact and Enablement community of practice (CoP), a group aimed at fostering collaboration around technical innovations that are modernizing the mortgage sector.

The Technology Impact and Enablement CoP will serve as a dedicated forum where participants from across the industry can identify, evaluate, and advance emerging technologies. By combining monitoring, expert analysis, and cross-workgroup engagement, the group will assess the relevance and potential impact of new tools and solutions, helping ensure that MISMO standards evolve in step with innovation.

“The mortgage industry is evolving rapidly as technology drives modernization,” said Shawn Jobe, vice president of software and product development at Credit Interlink. “The Technology Impact and Enablement CoP will ensure that the industry remains proactive in aligning technical innovations with MISMO standards to enhance interoperability, scalability, and industry-wide adoption.”

By creating this CoP, MISMO aims to strengthen industry alignment on technology adoption, ensuring standards keep pace with innovation while addressing practical challenges in mortgage origination, servicing, and compliance. Participants will benefit from shared insights, strategic discussions, and opportunities to influence the development of industry-wide standards.

Devin Caster, senior principal of product management at Cotality, emphasized the collaborative value of the initiative: “This initiative provides a space for stakeholders across the industry to collaborate and assess how technical innovations are applied to solve challenges across the life of a loan.”

The Technology Impact and Enablement CoP represents a proactive step toward a more connected and technology-driven mortgage ecosystem. Industry professionals interested in contributing to the conversation and shaping the future of mortgage technology are encouraged to join the group and help drive progress across the sector.
