Redfin has launched a new app within ChatGPT that allows home searchers to access property listings, market data, and housing insights through conversational queries. The integration became available this week for both web and iOS users of the AI platform.
The feature enables users to ask specific housing questions and refine their search through natural conversation without repeatedly entering search criteria. Home seekers can inquire about properties within certain budgets, then follow up with questions about neighborhoods, commute times, or local price trends. The conversational approach mirrors how people typically think about housing decisions rather than forcing them into rigid search parameters.
Ariel Dos Santos, Redfin SVP of product and design, characterized the launch as part of an effort to simplify home searches as more consumers turn to AI platforms for important information.
“This launch of a Redfin app in ChatGPT is our way of making home search easier and better as more people use AI platforms to get important information,” said Dos Santos. “We believe this additional entry point into our listings and data will make home searchers’ lives easier, and the experience aligns with our goal of making home search less about filters and more conversational.”
The ChatGPT app builds on Redfin's broader strategy to make home search feel more natural. In November, the company introduced conversational search on Redfin.com, allowing users to pose questions in plain language. The feature subsequently became available on Redfin's iOS app as well.
Beyond conversational search, Redfin has deployed several AI-powered tools including the Redfin Estimate for real-time home valuations, Ask Redfin for market insights, and Buying Power to help buyers understand affordability.
To access the Redfin app in ChatGPT, users navigate to their profile settings, select apps, click explore apps, and search for Redfin. Once connected, users can initiate their home search by clicking "Start Chat."
