New platform brings pricing, submissions, document handling, and loan tracking into one system as the wholesale lender expands its Non-QM business
Brokers First Funding has launched Wingman, a broker portal that combines loan pricing, submissions, document handling, and pipeline tracking in one system.
The Costa Mesa, California-based wholesale lender said the platform was built with feedback from its broker partners and is intended to give them a clearer view of each loan as it moves toward closing.
Bank statement, DSCR, and other alternative-documentation loans often require more paperwork and communication than standard agency mortgages. A centralized portal can help brokers identify outstanding items earlier and spend less time requesting status updates.
“When brokers send us a loan, they shouldn’t have to wonder where it stands or what happens next,” BFF President Shabi Asghar said. “Wingman gives them a clearer picture of their pipeline and a much easier way to work with us.”
The portal includes a pricing interface, a streamlined submission process, AI-assisted document handling, and tracking for loan milestones. It also provides a channel through which brokers can recommend future improvements.
Building For More Volume
Wingman arrives as BFF prepares for larger production. The lender moved into an expanded Costa Mesa headquarters earlier this year, providing additional capacity for its growing broker network. Last month, BFF appointed Pam Scheidt vice president and director of operations. Scheidt said her priorities include streamlining operations, expanding market share and tripling production volume.
Bringing pricing, submissions, documents, and routine status updates into one system gives BFF more infrastructure to pursue that goal. It could also reduce the manual follow-up required from brokers, account executives, and operations employees as loan volume increases.
The launch also follows BFF’s July introduction of first- and second-lien Non-QM HELOCs, which expanded its options for self-employed borrowers, real estate investors, and borrowers qualifying with alternative income documentation.
Adding products gives brokers more loans they can place with BFF. Wingman addresses what happens after they choose the lender.
Asghar said the company plans to use broker feedback to guide future additions to the platform.
“‘Non-QM Without the Non-Sense’ isn’t just a tagline for us,” he said. “It means simpler processes, straightforward communication, faster answers, and a commitment to helping brokers find a path forward on challenging deals.”
