The former CMG Home Loans branch manager brings more than two decades of lending experience to the real estate-affiliated mortgage company

Guaranteed Rate Affinity has hired Josh Rakiey as vice president of mortgage lending, adding an experienced originator to expand its business across New England.

Rakiey will serve homebuyers, develop relationships with real estate agents, and work to grow his team and regional presence, the company announced Thursday.

Before joining Guaranteed Rate Affinity, Rakiey was a senior loan officer with CMG Home Loans in Falmouth, Maine. Modex’s latest publicly available profile identifies him as a branch manager at the location, which had three loan officers.

Rakiey entered the mortgage industry in 2003 and has worked for mortgage companies, brokerages, and credit unions. He previously served in mortgage leadership at Hanscom Federal Credit Union, where he was promoted to assistant vice president of mortgage sales in 2016.

“I’m excited to reintroduce myself to the New England market with Guaranteed Rate Affinity and build on the relationships I’ve developed throughout my career,” Rakiey said. “The connection to the Coldwell Banker Realty network creates an incredible opportunity for growth, while the personal and supportive culture makes this the right fit for my next chapter.”

Rakiey said Guaranteed Rate Affinity’s technology, mortgage products, and Same Day Mortgage program contributed to his decision to join the company.

Under that program, eligible borrowers who submit required financial information and documentation within 24 hours of locking their rate may receive loan approval within one business day. The program does not guarantee that a loan will be approved, funded, or closed within a particular period.

“Josh brings an impressive depth of experience and a genuine commitment to his clients,” said Jay Crowder, divisional manager at Guaranteed Rate Affinity. “His entrepreneurial mindset and relationship-driven approach make him a tremendous addition to our team.”

Guaranteed Rate Affinity is a mortgage joint venture between Guaranteed Rate and CIH Integrated Services. Guaranteed Rate owns a controlling 50.1% stake, while CIH owns 49.9%.

The lender originates mortgages for consumers connected with real estate brokerage and relocation operations now held under Compass International Holdings, including Coldwell Banker Realty. It also serves borrowers and referral partners outside that affiliated network.

That distribution network expanded when Compass completed its acquisition of Anywhere Real Estate in January. The transaction placed Anywhere’s real estate brands and mortgage interests alongside Compass’ existing operations, increasing the potential pool of agent-generated referrals available to affiliated lenders.

Guaranteed Rate Affinity said it has funded more than $100 billion in mortgages since its formation.
