Mortgage veteran Bart Evans to lead retail business in Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee
California-headquartered mortgage lender loanDepot, Inc. named Bart Evans, a seasoned mortgage professional and former MLB pitcher, regional vice president for the Southeastern area that includes Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
“As a former professional baseball player, Bart knows the value of hard work, competitiveness, and collaboration,” loanDepot Executive Vice President John Bianchi said in a release. “He starts every day as if he’s heading to a championship game, and we’re excited to see his talents in action.”
Evans was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1992 and had an eight-year career with the team. Bianchi noted that the region Evans will be managing has been seeing “accelerated population growth” over the last decade, “and Bart’s leadership, growth mindset, and dedication to his community make him the perfect fit to take our business to the next level.”
Prior to this appointment, Evans served as an area manager for mortgage lender Summit Funding, Inc., as well as a regional director at Movement Mortgage. In his new role, Evans will report to loanDepot Senior Vice President of Production Paul Ramos.
Tagging Ramos and others in a post last week on LinkedIn, Evans offered some clues on his approach to 2025. The post featured a video of his dogs going outside to find snow on the ground.
“You’re so excited to get out the door quick and then when you see what’s in front of you – you either run right through it and attack, or you are hesitant and turn around hoping you might be awoken from a bad dream,” Evans wrote.
“Let’s make 2025 what we choose to make it!” he added. “I know that I will be running in the snow!"
