Waterstone Mortgage Names VP Of Compliance

Waterstone Mortgage Corporation named Kris Barros as the company's vice president of compliance.

In his new role with Waterstone Mortgage, Barros will oversee the compliance management system. He will be focused on maintaining company compliance with all federal and state requirements and will assist with the development, design, and implementation of policies and procedures required to maintain acceptable levels of regulatory compliance, according to Waterstone Mortgage.

Barros has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage lending and finance industries and has held several senior-level compliance, regulatory and audit, and marketing positions throughout his career.

Most recently, he served as the marketing compliance manager for Guaranteed Rate in Chicago. Barros also previously worked for Santander Bank, Embrace Home Loans, and East West Mortgage Company.

“Kris will play an essential role in ensuring that our processes continue to align with industry regulations,” said the company's senior vice president – general counsel Stephanie Ziebell.

Waterstone Mortgage is listed as one of National Mortgage Professional's “Most Loved Employers” for 2021.
