Ellie Mae Names Dinesh Shahane SVP of Engineering

Pleasanton, Calif.-based Ellie Mae has announced its acquisition of Capsilon, a provider of AI-powered mortgage automation software for mortgage lenders, investors and servicers

Ellie Mae has named Dinesh Shahane Senior Vice President of Engineering, with responsibilities for architecture and all horizontal technologies for Ellie Mae’s Encompass Lending Platform, including new investments in data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Shahane will play a key role in evangelism and adoption of the platform by Lenders, Partners, and ISVs, driving expansion of the vast open ecosystem of Encompass developers. He will also play a pivotal role in delivery of the full suite of Encompass Connect solutions, as well as raising the bar on quality, scalability, performance and security of all Ellie Mae solutions.
 
Prior to joining Ellie Mae, Shahane was Chief Technology Officer of SAP Ariba, where he led the company’s technology vision, Ariba’s Cloud Platform and Advanced Technology Incubations and drove key cloud technology topics such as multi-tenancy, scalability, security, user interface and open ecosystem. He facilitated the technical community within SAP Ariba and chaired the Technology Advisory Board and several focus groups within the executive Customer Advisory Board. Shahane was a key member of SAP’s CTO circle, where he drove platform topics including Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning, Blockchain and future business networks.

Prior to joining SAP Ariba in 2010, Shahane served as the Chief Architect at Composite Software Inc., a data virtualization company leading the federated SQL and XQuery engine. He joined Composite from TIBCO, where he architected BusinessWorks, the industry’s leading Business Process Engine, and the ActiveMatrix SOA Platform. At TIBCO, Shahane was actively involved in Open Source and standards bodies such as W3C, Oasis and Java Community on topics such as XML, Web Services and Security. Shahane graduated from the Mumbai University (India) with a degree in Computer Science.
