Chris Shelton Joins New American Funding As Divisional EVP For The Southeast
Industry veteran brings 20+ years of experience to strengthen NAF’s Southeast retail operations
New American Funding (NAF) has announced the appointment of Chris Shelton as Divisional Executive Vice President for the Southeast region. Based out of NAF’s retail division, Shelton will now lead loan officer operations across Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
A well-respected industry leader with over two decades in mortgage lending, Shelton is tasked with driving growth and building a high-performance culture in the Southeast. His strategic focus includes empowering loan officers, deepening builder and realtor partnerships, and expanding NAF’s market share through targeted recruitment and business development.
“Chris is a highly respected leader in the mortgage industry,” said Pat Bolan, Chief Production Officer at NAF. “His character, integrity, and reputation are a perfect match for our culture. He’s passionate about building, growing, and recruiting — and has a proven track record of doing just that.”
Prior to joining NAF, Shelton served as East Coast Sales Leader at Summit Funding, where he coached and mentored loan officers to reach new levels of professional success. He also spent nearly 12 years as Southeast Divisional Leader at Movement Mortgage, overseeing a team of more than 1,200 originators and helping drive over $12 billion in annual volume — $4 billion of which he directly built through recruitment and growth initiatives.
Shelton earned his bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in business from East Carolina University.
Reflecting on his decision to join NAF, Shelton said: “After spending significant time on the road and having countless conversations with outstanding leaders in our industry, it became clear that NAF was the perfect fit for me. The company’s unwavering commitment to championing the originator, combined with a strong culture of teamwork, deeply aligned with my own values.”
