Hanson has held several leadership roles since joining loanDepot in 2011
loanDepot, Inc. announced it has appointed Alec Hanson as Senior Vice President of Production for the West division. Hanson joins Paul Ramos, SVP of Production for the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic, and Mary Bane, recently promoted to SVP of Production for the Northeast/Central, as part of a team of retail sales leaders working with President of Retail Lending Tom Fiddler to drive growth and momentum.
Hanson began his origination career in 2004, when he was named Rookie of the Year by Scotsman Guide. He is the author of "Bypassed: A Modern Guide for Local Mortgage Pros Left Behind by the Digital Customer" and loanDepot’s "Modern Lending Playbook." Hanson joined loanDepot in 2011 through its acquisition of imortgage and has since held several leadership roles across the company. In 2024, Hanson spoke up for California homebuyers and owners who struggled to find home insurance coverage after the state suffered devastating wildfires.
Fiddler said, “Alec brings a unique and powerful set of experiences to this role; the mortgage industry is truly in his blood! Alec’s success as an originator is undeniable, he knows the Retail lending business inside and out and is a talented coach and motivator who has also emerged as a dynamic thought leader. His drive, will to compete, and positive energy will help us build on our existing momentum.”
Hanson added, “Being part of the loanDepot story for nearly 15 years has been a source of immense pride. We have an incredible company, built by incredible people, and I’ve always been inspired by the entrepreneurial energy that defines Anthony’s leadership. Now it’s time to go on the offense. I’m thrilled to return to my original home in the Retail channel, where I see such a tremendous opportunity. My goal is to be an accelerant for our talented team in the West, empowering them to compete, win, and build on the incredible work they’re already doing.”
