The Mortgage Bankers Association names veteran government affairs strategist Jeremy Green as vice president of legislative affairs to bolster its advocacy and deepen engagement on Capitol Hill

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has announced that Jeremy Green has joined the organization as vice president of legislative affairs, strengthening the association’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill. In his new role, Green will be responsible for advancing MBA’s legislative priorities, with a particular focus on building relationships and engagement with Democratic members of the U.S. Senate and their staffs.

Green brings more than a decade of government affairs experience to the position, having worked extensively with Congress, federal agencies, and industry stakeholders to shape policy outcomes. Most recently, he served as vice president of federal government affairs at McGuireWoods Consulting, where he advised clients on navigating complex legislative and regulatory environments.

Before joining McGuireWoods, Green held several senior roles at the National Association of Realtors (NAR), including federal legislative representative. During his tenure, he played a key role in advancing national advocacy strategies, coordinating legislative campaigns, and helping influence major federal housing and real estate policy initiatives. Earlier in his career, he also worked at the Grover Park Group, further developing his expertise in public affairs and political advocacy.

MBA leadership emphasized that Green’s background, strategic mindset, and relationship-building skills will be instrumental as the association continues to represent the interests of its single-family and commercial/multifamily members.

“Jeremy brings to MBA a proven track record of building strong relationships with policymakers and a thoughtful, strategic approach to advancing legislative priorities on behalf of the real estate industry,” said Bill Killmer, MBA's chief lobbyist and senior vice president of legislative and political affairs. “His focused expertise and passion for political advocacy, coupled with his family history of industry involvement, make him a great fit to join our lobbying team. I am confident he will be successful helping to produce positive legislative outcomes on behalf of both our single-family and commercial/multifamily members.”
