MLB Wholesale taps industry veteran to lead and expand its wholesale and correspondent lending platforms, and strengthen its broker and correspondent relationships

Springfield, New Jersey-based MLB Wholesale has named Laura J. Brandao as president of its wholesale and correspondent lending division.

Brandao, most recently CEO/founder of national mortgage consulting firm Lighthouse Advisors LLC, served 15 years as president/partner of American Financial Resources (AFR), where she was responsible for the sales, strategy, culture, and the day-to-day operations of AFR’s wholesale and correspondent divisions.

In her new role with MLB Wholesale, Brandao will lead the strategic growth of MLB’s wholesale and correspondent platforms, with a focus on innovation, execution, and strengthening broker and correspondent relationships.

“Stepping into this role at MLB has been incredibly meaningful to me because this company is built around people 一 our broker partners, our teams, and of course, the families that we serve,” said Brandao via her LinkedIn page.

A lifelong champion of the mortgage industry, Brandao is devoted to educating, empowering, and elevating others to reach their highest potential. Over the course of her career, she has served as chair of NAMMBA’s Visionary program, VP and board member at the Mortgage Bankers Association of New Jersey (MBA-NJ) and chair of its Women’s Committee, chair of Women with Vision, served as a member of NAMB’s Expanding Opportunities Committee, served as a member of the AIME Women’s Mortgage Network Committee, and as an executive coach, and speaker.

“My focus is very simple … listen closely, support fiercely, and help our brokers reach the highest level of success,” added Brandao.

In addition to welcoming Brandao aboard, MLB Wholesale has started 2026 with a number of additions and promotions, including bolstering its Non-QM division with the promotion of Paul Sushereba as Non-QM division manager, and adding Celline Iglesias as Non-QM specialist and Jennifer Rosen as a Non-QM underwriter.

MLB Wholesale also strengthened its core through the addition of Account Manager Jessica Schooley, and welcoming Todd Billings, Jay Dempsey, and Kerry Cole as account executives.
