Mortgage Lending Leader Jeffrey Rose Takes On Regional Director Role At Movement
Rose to serve LOs across California and Nevada, says he’s found his ‘why’ at Movement Mortgage
Movement Mortgage, one of the nation’s largest retail mortgage lenders, has hired Jeffrey Rose as regional director for California and Nevada.
In the role, Rose will focus on expanding Movement’s presence across California and Nevada by recruiting top talent, developing new market strategies, and “supporting Movement’s mission to love and value people,” the company noted.
Rose brings over two decades of leadership experience in mortgage and real estate finance to Movement. He began his career in 2002 and has founded and led three mortgage firms and two marketing companies focused on consumer engagement in the mortgage space.
Most recently, Rose served more than four years as an area manager at loanDepot, “where his region quickly ranked among the top-producing nationally,” according to Movement, and before that, he was vice president, area lending manager for nearly nine years at Bank of America.
He claims he’s been searching for just that perfect fit, and something “clicked” as he explored a move to Movement.
"For years I searched for something more than just being a great advisor to clients," Rose stated in a release. "It wasn’t until I visited Movement’s corporate office and met with the leadership team that it clicked. I didn’t even realize what I was missing until I saw it up close.”
“Everyone is searching for their ‘why,’” he continued. “For me, Movement allows that ‘why’ to be both deeply personal and shared. It’s a place where I can lead with purpose, showcase my love for people, and be part of something larger than any one of us."
Further Insight
It seems Rose has been contemplating that concept of the “why” in his profession for some time now, and he’s provided some insight into it.
“There’s one thing on knowing why something is being done; there’s a-whole-nother on believing in the ‘why,’” he said in a video on LinkedIn three years ago. “So often, I find loan officers and they just stay at a company because they have a big paycheck, or they stay at a company not because they fit well, not because of the organizational fit, or they believe in the tried-and-true methodologies and ways that they’re doing their underwriting.”
“It’s just because that’s what’s comfortable in the moment, and doing a transition is tough,” Rose continued. “I can promise you, I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and I have a lot of mentors who’ve been doing this for a lot longer than that. We do this [work] more than we spend time with our family, so it makes sense to align ourselves with the core values and the institutions that fit the same mold.”
Rose emphasizes work-life balance, according to Movement’s release on his hire: he lives in Southern California and in his downtime, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two soon-to-be teenagers and is active in the local preferences for sports.
“Whether it's surfing, golfing, staying active, or relaxing at the beach or by the pool, he values any time spent with family,” the release states. “He believes that fitness, faith, and showing up for the people who matter most are at the heart of a meaningful life.”
"Jeff brings a rare combination of experience, vision, and heart," stated Movement National Sales Director Brady Yeager. "He’s spent his career building up loan officers personally and professionally — not just focusing on loan volume — and that’s exactly the kind of impact we’re excited to see in California and Nevada."
