nCino Targets Preapproval Bottlenecks With LO AI Suite
The six-capability suite combines eligibility checks, guideline answers, and underwriting follow-up inside nCino’s point of sale
nCino is bringing program eligibility checks, underwriting follow-up, and preapproval automation into one loan officer workspace, targeting the manual steps that stand between a borrower’s application and a file moving forward.
The company’s Loan Officer Productivity Suite combines six capabilities inside its Mortgage Point of Sale. The tools use each lender’s data, product guidelines, and workflow rules to provide institution-specific answers and automate routine work, the company says.
The practical appeal is connecting a guideline answer to the work that follows: identifying an eligible program, understanding AUS findings, and completing the tasks needed to advance the file.
“Loan officers are being asked to handle more work without sacrificing responsiveness to borrowers,” said Casey Williams, nCino’s general manager of global mortgage. “The Loan Officer Productivity Suite helps create that capacity by taking routine work off originators’ plates and putting answers and next steps at their fingertips, so they can stay responsive and competitive without adding more hours to the day.”
From Program Selection To Follow-Up
Loan PreCheck evaluates borrower eligibility against Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines and recommends suitable programs before the file reaches underwriting.
In its June announcement of Loan PreCheck, nCino said the tool runs when an application is submitted and a credit report is pulled. It returns confidence-scored assessments for each agency, flags issues such as low credit scores or high debt-to-income ratios, and cites the relevant guideline sections.
AUS Smart Tasks addresses the next stage, translating automated underwriting findings into plain-language summaries and suggested tasks. LOs can work through those tasks individually or use templates to automate common conditions.
Mortgage Advisor for Loan Officers extends nCino’s borrower-facing conversational AI to originators. It answers questions about pipelines, individual files and GSE guidelines, and can create tasks or send reminders with the LO’s approval.
Educated Mortgage is already using suite features in daily origination workflows, according to nCino. Dan O’Brien, the lender’s president and a loan officer, pointed to the speed of finding a supported guideline answer.
“I asked Mortgage Advisor for Loan Officers something specific, and it cited the guidelines and gave me the guideline almost immediately,” O’Brien said. “With other AI search tools, you almost have to sit there with 10 different prompts to get the information you're looking for. This is better.”
Security National Financial Corporation is preparing to equip its loan officers with the features, the company said.
Bringing The Pieces Together
The suite also includes automated preapproval, which combines credit authorization, verification services, fee calculations, and dual AUS integrations. nCino says the workflow can shorten approval cycles to minutes with less originator intervention. Automated disclosures handles initial disclosures and redisclosures for standard loan templates.
The sixth capability, Mortgage MCP for Loan Officers, lets originators connect their own AI agents to nCino’s Mortgage Suite through a conversational interface.
Several components predate this week’s announcement. AUS Smart Tasks was announced in October 2025, Loan PreCheck in June 2026, and Mortgage MCP — including its loan officer interface — in August. The October launch brings the capabilities together into a suite focused on LO productivity.
That consolidation follows nCino’s expansion into additional origination workflows. NMP previously reported on its TPO Experience for bringing broker-submitted and retail loans into the same point-of-sale platform, scheduled to become available to Encompass users in late 2026.
For LOs, finding an answer faster helps, but having that answer carry through to program selection, conditions, and follow-up is where the tools could make a bigger difference in the workday.
