OriginPoint announced that Austin Reed has joined the company as a producing regional manager, adding an originator the lender says generates approximately $150 million in annual mortgage volume.

Reed, brings 13 years of mortgage experience to the role. He serves borrowers and real estate partners throughout Greater New England and the Northeast, with additional business in Georgia, Florida, California, Illinois, and Michigan.

In his new position, Reed will continue working with his existing clients and referral partners while expanding his team and developing business for OriginPoint across the Northeast.

“Austin is exactly the kind of leader we want at OriginPoint,” President and CEO James Elliott said. “He is a proven producer, an exceptional relationship builder and, most importantly, someone who is relentless about delivering an extraordinary experience for his clients and agent partners.”

Reed joins OriginPoint from CrossCountry Mortgage, where he served as an originating branch manager and senior vice president, according to his professional profile. Earlier in his career, he worked at Guaranteed Rate.

Reed originates conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo, first-time homebuyer, and investment-property loans. His business is built around a consultative approach that considers how a mortgage fits into a borrower’s broader financial goals, the company said.

“The homebuying process is far too emotional to lose that personal connection,” Reed said. “What stood out to me about OriginPoint is that the team truly understands that.”

OriginPoint was formed in 2021 as a mortgage-origination joint venture between real estate brokerage Compass and Guaranteed Rate, now known as Rate. The company was designed to connect loan originators more closely with real estate agents while serving borrowers regardless of which brokerage represents them.
