Data released today for August 2022 show that home price gains decelerated across the United States.
Both the FHFA House Price Index and the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index reported declining housing prices nationwide.
S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index for June 2022 shows that home prices continue to increase across the U.S., but at a declining rate.
The gain was down from 20.6% in April.
The FHFA price index rose 1.6% in April, parallel with S&P’s reported 2.08% gain.
